We had the great pleasure working with this lovely couple. Andrea was such a delight to work with, she has a very bubbly personality

Her wedding flowers reflected her personality perfectly!

Andrea wanted colour & she wanted to incorporate peacock feathers….that was all the instruction she gave us

She did not have any specific blooms in mind. She left that up to us

She was thrilled with her flowers!

We used white & green hydrangeas, purple anemone, tulips, ranunculus, spider mums & peacock feathers

Wrist corsages we made for both the mother of the bride & groom We used a burgundy coloured ranunculus, gypsophilia & of course added in a peacock feather

Found these adorable mini peacocks & we couldn’t resist adding them to the ceremony arrangements

What a great looking wedding party!

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our past clients for an amazing 2014 Wedding Season!

We worked with so many fantastic brides, grooms, same-sex couples, families, vendors & venues

A big thank you to those who took the time to write us a review, sharing your experience working with FCL Weddings with others!

Reviews are very important for our business. To read our reviews, click here

Not only did we work with couples on their weddings, whether we provided wedding flowers and/or wedding planning/wedding day management, we also worked with great vendors, helping them with their events

We had the pleasure of providing floral decor & favours for a learning seminar put on by the talented, Jennifer Maxwell of The Wedding Coach

We also provided flowers for Mother’s Day for Mill Run Golf Club. guests treated mom to a delicious brunch & mom was able to keep the flower centerpiece!

Not to mention a couple of milestone events to happen to us personally

First, my son graduated from Grade 8 & we provided all the grade 8 grads with a boutonniere or corsage for photos

The graduation ceremony & after party was held at the lovely 4 Season’s Golf Club

My sister got married in June! Not only did I provide my sister with all her flowers (my wedding gift to her), I also helped her plan her wedding, which we planned in 12 weeks!

I had the honour of being my sister’s maid of honour, it was a very special day!

My MOH speech…….I made both my sister & her husband cry!

Best speech of the night!

We were very busy with weddings in 2014 & we are so looking forward to 2015!

Over the next several weeks we will share a few weddings with you. Unfortunately we don’t have pictures form all of our past weddings but will share the photos we do have

That being said, we always appreciate when photographers and/or couples send us photos of our flowers and weddings we planned/coordinated as we don’t always have the time to take any of our own

To see more photos (professional & “not so” professional) of  past weddings, please visit our Facebook page & while you are there, give us a “like”

And Remember……

Ah, that burning question that clients ask me on a regular basis. Which vendors do we tip? Do we have to leave a tip? How much?

Tipping is not a requirement but most vendors will expect it

When you sign the contract for the venue usually gratuities are included but make sure to check

Wait staff usually get 15% of the bill, which may be included in the contract

If you feel the staff did an exceptional job & you would like to give them a tip, $1.00-$2.00 per guest is appropriate

Limousine drivers are given tips based on service, as the company pays them 15-20% of the bill

Wedding Coordinators/Consultants, florists, cake decorators, & photographers do not receive a tip unless their work is absolutely out of this world

Live bands & DJ’s are tipped when they provide exceptional service. Each band member generally gets $25.00

DJ’s can be tipped 15% of their bill

Parking/ Restroom attendants should be paid $1.00-$2.00 per guest at the beginning of the night

Just remember that “tipping” is always at the discretion of the bride & groom and only for a job well done

You should never feel pressured into it, especially if they are not deserving of one!

We had the great pleasure of being asked to participate at the Mill Run Golf Club Wedding Open House!

We are one of their preferred vendors for Wedding Flowers

Laura was referred to FCL Weddings by the Event Coordinator at Mill Run Golf Club

She said she  had no real idea of what she wanted for her flowers & that she was in need of suggestions

Laura stated her colours were black, white & red…….”what do you suggest”?

Do you like feathers? Why not have all white flowers & I can use black feathers as a coller. She loved the idea!

Here are a few pics from her wedding

“Tracy,

Thank you for doing an amazing job on the flowers & your suggestions”

Tom & Laura

We wish them a lifetime of joy & happiness!

We had the pleasure of working with Annie & Josh, providing them with their wedding flowers

The bride chose gorgeous ivory roses, gerberas & the beautiful natural blues of delphinium & hydrangea for her bouquet, bridesmaids bouquets & Josh’s boutonniere

The crafty bride added her personal touch by decorating the mason jars used for the centerpieces & ceremony flowers

The couple married at the stunning Trillium Trails, located in North Oshawa

With its natural beauty & rustic charm, it attracts many brides & grooms to this venue

See for yourself

We started 2013 in lovely Muskoka where we had the pleasure working with a great couple, providing wedding flowers & décor for their Winter Wedding!

We then flew to Montreal to work with a Corporate client, helping design a Winter Wonderland Gala for over 400 people. It was my very first time flying Porter & I loved it!

Next was the WPIC Kick Off Event! In 2013, I was the WPIC Regional Representative for Durham Region. Myself & fellow Reg. Reps from Muskoka, Halton/Peel, Kitchener/Waterloo, Niagara & Ottawa all collaborated together & planned an amazing event for our fellow WPIC alumni

To see the event, click here A great blog post by WPIC!

Durham Region has a new WPIC Regional Representative, as we change it up every 6-12 months. It just so happens to be a wonderful friend & colleague of mine who is the Wedding coordinator at Mill Run Golf Club, Amy Stevenson

During Wedding Season, we were very busy! Creating beautiful wedding bouquets, corsages, boutonnieres, centerpieces & ceremony flowers for several couples. We also provided Wedding Day Management for a few of them as well

I can’t express enough the “priceless” feeling I get when I hand a bride her bouquet & she gushes!

I truly love flowers & floral design and being able to combine my passion & a business is a blessing that I never thought possible….until now

Working with couples on their Special Day & taking over the stress & management of the day so they can relax & enjoy every single, precious moment is so rewarding. Watching them smile, eat, drink, dance without a worry, is why I do what I do

I provide my clients with that peace of mind & trust that comes through in my passion

Thank you to all of our past clients who took the time to share their kind words & experience working with us! Because of that, we were just notified that FCL Weddings & Floral Designs has been awarded the WeddingWire Couples’ Choice Awards for 2014!!!

To read our reviews from our past clients, simply scan the QR code with your smart phone or you can view them on our “Meet the Owner” page on our website

In July, we decided to open an office in the downtown Oshawa area. We share that space with 2 other great wedding vendors,

In-Style Weddings & Décor and Your Captured Moments Photography

It’s a great opportunity & convenience for couples planning their weddings, as it is a one-stop-shop! You can book a wedding planner, florist, photographer, photo booth, wedding décor, & candy buffet all under 1 roof

Clients are not obligated to book with all the vendors & we never push them to do so, but we have discovered that several clients love the idea of booking our services & having meetings on the same day, in the same location!

We are located at 70 Albert St. Oshawa~ By Appointment Only

We had an amazing year & we are looking forward to the 2014 Wedding Season! We learned a lot from all the weddings & clients we worked with in 2013. We will continue to give all our clients the BEST service we can as we continue to better ourselves & learn from past mistakes

We will continue to network with other wedding professionals, attend conferences and seminars to provide our clients with the confidence they made the right choice hiring FCL Weddings!

See you in 2014

Happy Planning!

We loved working with this couple! They were the most calm & coolest clients we have worked with

Nothing phased them, even when they had to stop in the middle of the ceremony to call 911 because one of their groomsmen passed out & hit his head

Thankfully, he was alright & returned to the reception after a brief visit to the hospital

The venue of choice for their Winter Wedding was the gorgeous JW Marriott~ The Rosseau in beautiful Muskoka

We provided all Wedding Flowers & décor for this wedding. The B&G put us up in the stunning hotel for the night. Our room was a gorgeous suite complete with a full eat-in kitchen, fireplace & balcony which overlooked the snow covered property

We had so much fun, we stayed an extra night!
